DESCRIPTION:INDEPENDENCE DAY FLAG RAISING CEREMONY\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGood morning\, good afternoon and good evening depending on where you are watching from. \nI stand here with all Nigerians worldwide to celebrate the Nigerian Independence Day . \nToday’s Nigerian Independence day celebration marks the culmination of the journey that began 61 years ago.\nAs we celebrate the achievements of our forefathers for our independence\, we equally want to call attention to the evils plaguing us as a people. \nAs the Nigerian community leader in the Greater Toronto Area\, Canada\, I feel your pain but we can take solace in the holy book referencing Job 14:7-9 that says:\n“That there is hope for a tree: If it is cut down\, it will sprout again\, and its new shoots will not fail.\nJob 14:8 Its roots may grow old in the ground and its stump die in the soil\,\nJob 14:9 yet at the scent of water it will bud and put forth shoots like a plant. \nIt is an undeniable fact that our leaders have deviated from the path of our founding fathers in nation building. \nOf note are issues plauging our nation presently such as unemployment\, devaluation of our currency\, energy and infrastructural deficiencies\, lack of smart industrialization and foreign policies\, lack of direction and abandonment of previous govt projects\, mishandling of the covid-19 pandemic ravaging the world.
